This is a collection of memos and reports that I wrote during my time at the San Francisco Chronicle. I joined the Chronicle in 1985 after a brief stay at the San Jose Mercury News. I was hired as photo and graphics editor, the paper’s first person to hold such a job. I left in 1987 to join The Arizona Republic as an assistant managing editor. Some of these memos are also reflected in the “Analog to Digital” timeline, which is the heart of this project.
